A stunning mix of five beetroot colors of red, white, yellow and striped. Gourmet Blend includes Detroit Dark Red, Sugar with a bright white, crisp inner flesh, Golden with a bright yellow flesh, and Chioggia with rings of pink and white.
SOWING…For mature roots and greens, sow seed outside as soon as soil can be worked in spring or in late summer for a fall crop. Plant seed 2 inches apart, cover with ½ inch of fine soil and water well.
THINNING…When plants are 3 to 4 inches tall, thin to 5 to 6 inches apart. Eat your thinnings in a salad!
GERMINATION…Germinates in 7 to 14 days depending on soil and weather conditions.
REMARKS…Steam the tender stems and leaves as an alternative to spinach or chard. Beets are rich in Vitamin C and essential minerals.Share
